Columbus, Ohio – The Web.com Tour Wives is partnering with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship to “Fill the Cart with Fun!” The Web.com Tour Wives is inviting tournament attendees to team up to help fill golf carts with games, toys and crafts that will benefit the patients of the Pediatric Cancer Unit at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Additionally, representatives from the Web.com Tour Wives will be presenting Nationwide Children’s Hospital with a $1,500 donation on Wednesday, September 23 at 12:30 p.m. near the main admission tent at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship.


“‘Fill the Cart with Fun’ has been a very successful program at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship for seven years now,” said Tia Kraft, wife of Web.com Tour member Kelly Kraft, who is chairing the event on behalf of the Web.com Tour Wives. “The Tour Wives are grateful to have the opportunity to help organize the program in cooperation with our faithful partner, Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Many precious young lives will be impacted in a very positive way by “Fill the Cart with Fun”. We are pleased to be able to kick things off with a $1,500 donation and encourage Columbus-area golf fans to come out, bring their donations and have some fun watching our husbands compete.”


The Web.com Tour Wives is a part of the PGA TOUR Wives Association.  The Association’s longstanding dedication to helping children and families in need led to them earning the 2013 Winnie Palmer Award from the Met N.Y. Golf Writers Association. The award is presented annually to an individual in golf who gives their time, energy and enthusiasm to those less fortunate.


In other news, tournament officials today announced the return of Birdie Time is Miller Time to Pub Thirteen. This fan favorite is located in a tented venue with premium views of the 13th hole that will be open all day during tournament rounds Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, September 27. Fans will enjoy a sports bar atmosphere with drink specials for 13 minutes each time a player in the field makes a birdie on the par-3 13th hole. A shot clock will count down the minutes.


The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship is offering several onsite fan activities for 2015 tournament patrons. At the Nationwide Golf Academy fans can receive free golf lessons and compete in a closest to the pin contest Thursday – Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. near the main tournament entrance gate. The new Nationwide Social Booth, open Friday – Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. behind the 18th green, is a unique kind of photo/video booth combining high speed video cameras and “bullet” style freeze frame images to create a high impact unique social experience for golf fans at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship.  The booth produces a high quality video with slow motion clips and 90 degrees of rotation around the fan’s experience. Fans who share their video on Twitter or Facebook will receive a complimentary coupon to the Cold Stone Creamery booth, also located behind the 18th green. Coupons can be redeemed from 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday for a free food item, including ice cream, caramel apples, hot chocolate, coffee and more, all compliments of Nationwide.


Other events of note at the 2015 tournament include the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Putting Challenge presented by Carrabba’s. The contest will be conducted Thursday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on the putting green located next to the main entrance gate. The cost will be $2.00 for one putt or $5.00 for three putts with one winner each day receiving a $100 Carrabba’s gift card and a dozen golf balls. All daily winners are invited to return on Sunday, September 27 at 2:30 p.m. for a putt-off to determine the overall champion of the putting challenge. The grand prize will be a Bose Bluetooth speaker and Bose ear buds. The grand prize winner will have a chance to make a 50 foot putt in order to win a two-year lease of a Lexus NX 200T from Germain Lexus of Dublin. The tournament will also offer a free pancake breakfast on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. next to the main entrance gate. Try your luck catching pancakes flipped from distances up to 30 feet.


The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship’s Pros fore Patients returns to tournament week and will be held Tuesday, September 22 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. This special program is designed to celebrate the tournament’s support of Nationwide Children’s and the more than $4.5 million that has been raised for pediatric cancer treatment and research since the tournament began in 2007. Pros fore Patients will highlight children who are battling, or have battled, pediatric cancer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The Pros fore Patients campaign will feature a special event on Tuesday at The Ohio State University Golf Club that will provide young cancer patients and survivors from Nationwide Children’s an opportunity to meet and interact with Web.com Tour and PGA TOUR players from the tournament’s field of competitors in a number of special activities, including a putting challenge, hitting stations, a hula hoop contest, face painting and more. Participants and their families will also create care packages to be delivered to inpatients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital during tournament week.


The field for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship will compete over 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut to the top-65 players and ties after 36 holes. Golf Channel will broadcast tournament coverage from Thursday’s opening round to the trophy presentation on Sunday in high definition.


Tickets for the 2015 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship are available to the general public. The cost for one Any Day ticket, valid for any single day grounds admission Thursday – Sunday, is $10. A Weekly Ticket, providing admission to the tournament grounds Thursday – Sunday, is available at a cost of $30 per ticket. General admission to the practice rounds, Monday – Wednesday, including Wednesday’s Official Pro-am, are open to the public free of charge. Tickets for the tournament’s Hospitality Club*, a two-story skybox venue located on the 18th green, are available for $55 per day, including food and beverage. The Hospitality Club offers spectator viewing of Hole Nos. 9, 10 and 18. The lower level of the new structure is an enclosed, climate controlled space while the upper level is an open air terrace. The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship’s Charity Ticket Program, now entering its eighth year, allows for 100 percent of the revenue from general admission ticket sales to the benefit participating charity organizations.
